Xtracold Icebar, Netherlands
Kept at a chilly -10 degrees celsius all year round is none other than Amsterdam’s Xtracold Icebar. You’ll first enter through their heated bar before heading further into the building where you’ll be greeted with a warm coat to wear throughout the evening. You can then enter the official ice bar, made entirely of ice, where you can order your favourite drink out of a carved ice glass.
Aurora Ice Museum, Alaska
To check out the world’s largest, year-round ice environment, head to Alaska’s Aurora Ice Museum. The museum and its contents are made up of over 1000 tonnes of ice and snow, and the icy building is packed with gorgeous ice sculptures and ice art. While technically not an ice bar, they do serve up a frosty appletini in a martini glass made of ice which is definitely worth the goosebumps.
The Ice Kube Bar, France
The next time you’re in Paris, hit up the only ice bar in the city, The Ice Kube Bar. This ice bar offers more than just the usual chilled drinks and sculptures. The Ice Kube Bar is a wartime shelter from 1942 that has been transformed into a frozen over, post-apocalyptic scene. Stop by for the perfect mix of beauty, history, and cocktails.
Icebar Stockholm, Sweden
Icebar Stockholm is the world’s first-ever permanent ice bar, keeping things cool for over 17 years. The ice is all naturally occurring ice from the local Torne River. Expect gorgeous ice carvings and sculptures, tasty cocktails, and even a full food menu to warm you up as you chill out at the bar.
Below Zero Ice Bar, New Zealand
Lastly, we had to include Australasia’s biggest ice bar, the Below Zero Ice Bar. Located in Queenstown, the entire structure of the bar has been hand carved by top ice carvers from around the world. Rug up in cosy jackets, boots, and gloves, and then cool down with ice cocktails served in ice glasses as you sit on an ice couch and admire the ice sculptures.
